he's actually alot better than those pics, but ofcourse do u think he'll stay still for pics noooo, and when he has flared all his fins up he swims off just as i take the pic grrr

heres a front on shot of him flared, which would have been better if u could see all his fins lol

u nutter, hes soo beautiful and all diff colours in diff light, atm he looks greenish, as in my avatar

Glad you got him ok.....he's stunning

i need to get some decent lighting, as hes greeny, pinky, coppery, and those pics just dont show it

hes funny, he stalks his food lol and hes only ikkle blesh, problem is, he wont stay still for pics grrrr ,lol

managed to get him to flare with a mirror, n just as i took the pic he sped off lol

He's a good looking fish. I don't think your camera wants to focus that close, and it's very grainy - can you increase the lighting at all, with a spotlight or something reflective? That will mean you can have a shorter exposure= less blur and grain

its not the cam, it focus's and then he moves, hence the poor quality grrr

*wipes laptop screen* ya messy moo lol

tyyy i lurve him, hes a complete nutter

OK, all I was going on was that in most of the pics, the plants and heater etc. in the background seem to be reasonably focused, but not the fish. There's quite a difference to motion blur and OOF to a snapper's eye. And what I said about the grain - just give it a try. if nothing else, it will mean you are more likely to get him sharp than in low light
