IMO nothing smaller than 100 gallons, you'll want at a tank minimum of 6ft long and 2ft deep so he can turn around.

I have no where in my house to look after a 400 litre tank. Look's like i'll be getting rid of him for a Albino or Bristlenose Plec instead.

you could get 2 bristlenose, as they only get to 3-6"
