I don't know if they get their golden color when they mature but the sev that was labeled as a gold sev was rather dark in color. More blacks/silvers/browns and maybe some light greens/blues. Was it mislabeled or is this just a juve gold sev? Sorry I don't have a pic. :(

No jusvies are prety much solid gold, yellow. They get red on them as they get older. What u describe sounds more like a Jd than anything but i would say it is most likely a JD. Does it have the body shape of a sev? It was probly a green

I'd guess the tank at the lfs may have had both gold and green sevs and all that's left are the greens. as fish411 said, gold sevs are all gold/yellow from a very young age. :)

yes the sevs with red on them are super red sevs gold sevs are just all gold you will pay more for the super red !!! :D

Golds are gold from fryhood. I would say that what you described was a green or turquoise sev. They have dark stripes down their sides and vary from blue on their gill covers to greyish brown on their bodies.

 Oh okay. Thanks for the info. When I went back to see if he was still there, he was gone. I guess someone bought him. I don't blame them because he was a beautiful fish. Yea, he had the body of a sev so it was probably a green sev or something. Oh well...off to search for fish to fill my 120G with. :dunno:
