Save the fish!

Yesterday I drove 90 miles to collect 3 zebra plecs and all the way their my partner complained because she claims we have enough fish and we can't keep setting up more tanks

Later in the afternoon I took him our to the local carnival (anything to keep the peace) and after many beers off we went to look at the fair. We met up with a friend who had won two goldfish for the kids and I remarked to my partner how cruel I thought it was to have these little fishes hung up in plastic bags. Without any prior warning off she storms to the man who had these fishes and demanded he sell them all to him because he shouldn't be keeping them like that! We now have 21 goldfish I had to spend last night setting up a tempory tank..... yes another!

Is it just me or is ahe teaching you lesson about buying too many fish!! By the way how much did the zebra plecs set you back because down here in Wales I recently saw them selling for £100 each!!

The zebras cost £150 (private sale). I already had 5 zebras and with these 3 I have 8 so I should be able to start breeding them and if other people do the same the price should start to come down!

I don't know about him teaching me a lesson but his face this morning as she peered into the goldfish tank was a picture

Good Luck with breeding them. I would really love to have one but they are too expensive for me !! So i bought myself a dwarf bristlenose on the weekend instead.

I think you have an excuse to build a pond in the garden now!!

u know i havnt seen one of them fairs for ages around here... they seem more content with givin away cuddly teds... but they wouldnt except my child as payment for a game

Just an update. All goldfish are now doing very nicely but I have convinced him that they NEED a pond Obviously when the pond is set up their will be an empty tank which would HAVE to be filled

Yeah, real genius. Let's tell them we don't support the practice by BUYING the fish and reinforcing that idea.

People who don't think, only end up making the situation worse. His wife was utterly stupid to buy them and it's almost as dumb to support doing it because the guy who was giving them away will just think, "oh look, easy way to make more money." I highly doubt he'll care about cruelty to fish.

i know how you feel. i tried to trade my youngest for a 180 gal yesterday but they turned me down too.

seriously though, i probably would have bought the goldfish myself in that situation. and us women are aloud to change our minds or act eratically if we want to. that is what makes us so interesting.

you could ask what gives me the right to defend this person... but i dont think i could answer u

someone would have won them.. and isnt it better for them to goto someone with an idea of what hes doin than to some snottfaced, candyfloss covered little kid?
