I've been given the opportunity to grab up some blue hackett flagstone/sandstone for my cichlid tank. It looks great, and is a fairly hard sandstone, but I'm concerned about it dissolving in the tank after some time.

I've Googled sandstone in aquariums, and see that it's ok for high pH loving fish (which my cichlids will be), but I'm concerned about it slowly dissolving overtime and releasing particles into the water that may be harmful to their gills, or even more importantly, becoming soft and breaking, creating an in-take avalanche.

Anybody here have long term experience with sandstone in their tank?

I've seen the thread here regarding which rocks are safe in aquariums, but with this specific stone, I'm not sure if it contains feldspar or not.

Edit - Nevermind, it goes by 100 different names "Oklahoma Flagstone", "Oklahoma Hackett", etc, it's just not worth the risk.

should be right but depending on where it came from in the wild

but i would personaly get a plastic version
