Hi all

Im going to be switching to sand from gravel, and i would just like to know which sand you guys would recommend as i want a low tech planted tank.

Also which planting substrate to use..

Argos Play Sand seems to be the sand to use going by advice from a lot of experianced members on TFF

Just give it a good clean before you put it in your tank, and it only costs £2.99 per 15KG.

+ 1 for play sand just put it in a 2f tank =D with cat litter substrate

Depends what kind of look you want to go for. Play sand will be fine if you want a lighter coloured substrate, but if you want a darker look to your tank then it won't be much kop.

If you're wanting low tech then there is no need to spend a bomb on special planted substrates.
