Hello, Im in the process of saving up to change my old community tank in a kribensis tank. Nows the time to make any adjustments so i thought id give sand a go. I have plastic plants and wondered whether i could still use them with sand or whether sand is only compatable with live plants. Please help! Thanks. :hyper:

You can use plastic plants with sand, gravel, anything you want really. Just cover the bottom of them with sand to stop them moving about and bobs your uncle :)

Sure you can use plastic plants with sand :)

Yeah but plastic plants won't grow in sand

No wonder my plastic plant doesn't grow...I've been adding fertilizer and everything. This really clears up a lot of questions.

Yes, just like stated above, plastic plants will be just fine in any substrate! :good:

I have found that some plastic plants like to weasel their way out of the sand easier than out of larger gravel. The ones with suction cups on the bottom, as opposed to a dish, are especially good at wiggling out.
