Just make sure you wash it well before use or your water will be cloudy for a while.

Maybe. One thing is the colour. If it is tan, fine, but the data there says it can vary, so make sure it is not white which can be stressful on most fish including cories. The darker the substrate, the better for forest fish.

I use Quikrete's Play Sand which here is a dark grey/black/tan/white mix. This is the most refined sand, so you can be certain it will not be rough and damage fish as they swim over it, dig into it, and sift it through their mouths and out the gill slits. Pool filter sand (according to Quikrete when asked about this) will not be as refined, so I would check that.

Is this the sand you use? Any issues with clogging in filter?

I have had good luck with the Petco brand of sand with my Cory's. I have 6 of the little guys and thus far, the Sand when washed thoroughly works great!

That link is the same pool filter sand. I use the play sand, available from Home Depot, same brand Quikrete. There is Sakrete Play Sand at the link site, which seems much the same as what I use:

As for filter clogging, if the intake is too close to the substrate, any sand may get sucked up and clog the filter.

Playsand is great but DON'T skimp on washing it. I washed mine outside in winter so was in a hurry to be done and didn't rinse long enough. I had fine sand particles destroy 2 filters (HOB style). Almost a year later and it seems to have settled down now. The cories love it too, no doubt about it! But yeah, wash it really really well!!

I've been using well washed, silica [pool filter] sand for the past 8 years or so with success and my Cory's are just fine.

Like I said, the Imaginarium Sand from Petco worked great for me. It doesn't get caught in the filter at all and doesn't seem to float at all. I rinsed and strained the floating sand when I washed mine. Works beautifully to me.
