dirt and clay? where u get the clay from and potting compost?

My clay comes from the ground and is more just clayish dirt. Its from an area that floods every spring by my parents house. kitty liter would probably work. You don't need a lot of it. Then I just use clean topsoil and cover it with sand.

so do you guys think i should go down to my local stream and dig up some mud (i live in a clay enriched area- the broads Norfolk, bit of history is that they used to be peat mines and then they got flooded and yer) but i also live near a farm... chemicals could of washed into the stream (in the past iv not had problems using mud from it)... but do you think it would have enough minerals in it?
