Sand A Good Idea?

The sand I recommended does not need to be cleaned at all.

I think not cleaning cheapo sands is an issue, but there are issues that many people have had with cleaned sand. That is my point. I have never had or seen any issues with the sand I recommend.
that might just be because theres a larger amount of people out there using play sand so naturally there's more issues's for it

But the issues and risks are real, even if small. People should know they have other options, that is my only point. Educating people that there is something besides play sand, play sand, play sand only lets them make the most informed decision.

Most people will inform themselves when setting up an aquarium on exactly what they need, (hopefully), and this forum is a wealth of information on all aspects including sand. We all know how expensive all the equipment is so most of us don't spend a fortune on tanks, filters, fish etc. only to bung in cheap sand without researching and preparing it first. As for bringing out the colours of our fish, being left alone in their natural habitat would probably do that.

Estes' Marine Sand, which is also known as Ultra Reef and Stoney River.

i found that the playsand was easier to clean. I used black aquarium sand once, and after vigorous cleaning, it still made my tank foamy. So IME i would go with playsand, as all of my tanks look wonderful because of it.
