Salvinia

In my quest for finding floating plants for my killies, I have bought a salvinia type. The leaves are still relatively small, around 1.5 cm but I am afraid (knowing the Mexicans), that they have sold me the monstruous weed of salvinia molesta, a very appropriate name for this invasive weed.

Is anybody able to tell me the difference between natans and molesta when leaves are small?

i'm not sure whether you can tell the difference when they are small, i have never kept this plant, so i really can't comment. However, having a look at the images on google, there's not much difference, other than 'Molesta' seems to be locked together, rather than a single plant-lets??
