Saltwater Gravel?

Does anyone know if you can use normal gravel that alot of people use in freshwater tanks or is sand as a substrate a must for saltwater tanks? Right now I have sand but really miss my gravel.

(This is for a fish-only tank, I'm not messing with reefs yet)

You can buy coral chips or agrogate. you really want something there that will buffer your water. Plus IMHO normal gravel in a marine setup would just look wrong.

yeah, sand or crushed coral is best. like K-holed said, normal pea gravel may look odd.

the salt water is to corrosive so it will eat the gravel and make the water real cloudy.
