My male sailfin is sitting/resting at the bottom of the tank.

He moves around when I feed them and stuff, but he seems paralysed sort of? Like he can't swish his body around to get places. He still eats a bit, I've seen him, and he swims around a fair bit, but I can tell he isn't right.

What do you think the problem is?

I wouldn't be able to treat him until Tuesday (my time) because I'm flat out ALL monday (day and night)

1. Water parameters. (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, PH, temp', Hardness etc)

Ammonia: 0
Nitrate and Nitrite: ? I don't have the kit to test yet
PH: 6.6
Temp: 27 degrees

2. A full description of the fishes symptoms.

Sits at the bottom of the tank and seems paralysed? Still swims around every so often and eats.

3. How often you do water changes and how much.

Once a week , about 50%

4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water.

Water conditioner, water ager and an ammonia block thing

5. What tank mates are in the tank.

2 x opal gourami
2 x angel
6 x mollies
3 x platy
2 x bumble bee
1 silly snail
1 baby platy

6. Tank size.

3ft - 150ltrs I think?

7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish?

Nope!

Surely someone hear can point me in the right direction?

I don't want him to die or be uncomfortable/in pain

Sorry, I'm not sure about the what's causing the paralysis but 50% water change every week is too much realy :/ That should really be used for emergencies only for example, when there's ammonia or nitrite in the tank. Otherwise, you should only have to change around 10-25% per week for maintenance.

pH is a little low for livebearers  They like harder water than that.

50% water change is fine , not usually needed but it wont do any harm

ph is a little low but again i cant see there 2 much problem

as for the sailfin i presume we talking about a molly there could be many possibilities - age , water condition u need 2 check the nitrite and nitrate level before that can be decided, is there any signs of illness in any other fish?

All the other fish are fine.

It's not exactly 50%, but it's usually a bit more than a quarter. And it's not exactly every week :p

I haven't done a water change this week yet though. I was going to do it on Tuesday when I had the time.

Do you think it could be something like swim bladder or something because he doesn't swim properly. He sort of stands up and swims along, but not all the time.

I don't know if that's what swim bladder is though lol...I'm not familiar with illnesses except white spot and fungus stuff.

swim bladder is usally loss of balance , swimming upside down etc etc without a video it's really hard 2 try and diagnose without any main symtoms or water stats :( sorry cant be any more help :)

I just went to check on him again and he is fully 'laying' on the ground, not really moving at all. I couldn't even catch his attention and he usually tried to swim over to the glass when he saw me

Loss of balance aye?...

Well before when he was moving, when he tried to get up off the ground, it seemed like he was going to roll over?

I just took a video, but he just looks like a black log...not doing much
