I am getting a tall 29 gallon tank, and I was wondering if I could put some sailfin mollies in it (maybe 2 females and a male)? I couldn't find them in the fish index, so I don't know.

Could I put a school of danios and some cories with them?

Read the stickied post about Mollies and salt. If you don't keep your water immaculately clean, salt is a necessity. Salt neutralizes some of the bioload in the tank, which Mollies are susceptible to, more so than other fish. If you are going to keep the Mollies in brackish water, they don't go with those other fish, but temperment-wise, they will get along fine. I have all those in the same tank with very clean water as it is over filtered and under stocked.

ive got Mollies in a tank with Cories and find there great togther, just leave each other alone. i do have a little bit of salt in my tank but very little, seems to keep the Mollies happy and doesnt affect my Cories.

if it's a tall tank it will have a very small surface area, this will limate the number of fish u can hold unless your usinf aeration.

Whats the dimentions of the tank?

Eh, I don't feel like trying to go brackish, so I guess I will drop the sailfins. Thanks though! :good:

I don't know the dimensions yet because I am supposed to go pick it up in about 3 hours.

ETA: The water here is bad, so I don't think that I could keep the freshwater clean enough for the mollies.

hi
i know some people will debate the fact but corys should not be kept in or put in salt, they really do not like it at all even though you say yours are fine nick, its not something i would advise.

yeah i know what you mean people tell me they are some people say they arent ok, to be honest i had my Cories in my tank for about six months before i knew they didnt like salt and they seem fine, completely normal Cory behaviour so have just kept them in, i wouldnt add anymore.
