Behold
Fishaholic
Well from the articles here and what i have read here seems to be the treatment.
Its not confirmed how contagous this is but its more likely contagous to the same species as each case will be geneticaly different to each type.
Best action is to remove the fish and isolate and keep him comfortable and well monitored.
The issue is not the viral disease as this is not a major killer but the infection that can happen when the bubbles burst. its very common that with in a few months the lumps will clear and he will live on to have a healthy life back in the main tank. This is only to be done once all lumps are gone and any skin is fully repaired.
that is. Often the issue is the lumps grow where it will cause the fish to have eating or breathing issues. in this case minor surgery on the lumps to aid comfort can be done but bacterial meds are needed to help lower infection. Some cases the fish is not strong enough and will die from it or live uncomfortably.
Hope this helps
