Hi all,

Are any UK trees able to provide safe twigs for use in an aquarium? I am looking to use 10-15 thin twigs as part of an aquascaping idea but am not sure if any twigs I can easily get hold of would be safe?

Ta for any replies!

Beech and oak are safe to use. An expert in PFK said it. Make sure they are dry though so you havnt still got green resin in the middle of the twig.

if you find some suitable twigs that are still wet, just stick them ontop of your radiator for a week or 2, you would be siprized at how fast they dry out fully!

I was thinking of drying them in the oven (low heat obviously!) as this may also kill off anything that may be dodgy?!
