Safe For Human

On the other hand, chemicals may not be safe for fish, dissolved chlorine for instance. But I have used "food grade" plastic in the tank without any problems, cups should also be fine.

Anything safe for storing water or food is also safe for fish.

i would say it depends onn what type of ceramic. if its a store bought piece, then i wpould say go for it, but if its a made-in-a-museum-workshop piece of pottery with a mixed-and-applied-by-a-pimply-faced-overworked-and-underpaid-kid quality glaze, then i would try to be a little bit more careful

^ Nice xD

I've seen people put some of the world's nastiest looking PVC pipe in their fish tanks and the fish were fine, so a ceramic cup should be fine.

this as in bowls, cups, dishes, and other stuff you use to eat and drink with. if i were to make a pot from white clay with non toxic food safe glaze, would it be alright? im not worried about bacteria or stuff like that lurking in the pot, cause itll be fired in a 1700-1900F degree kiln.

It sounds like it would be alright. If you don't get a definate answer, put it in and just watch your tank closely for any different behavior in the fish that might indicate something going badly.
