Hi, I am in desperate need of SAE's. Preferably in Miami Florida. I called about 30 LFS and no one seems to carry them. I was only able to find them online but the site has a minimum order amount and that'll cost me over $80.00. I just need 2 or 3. If anyone here lives in Miami FL. and are willing to sell me some of yours or know of a LFS that sells them, please let me know a.s.a.p. Thanks.

Hello! Nice to see another Miamian. Some LFS, especially Exotic aquariums and Antlantis aquariums will special order fish, if you ask nicely and are a regular customer, though I've never actually done so. You might want to also try the Big Al's over in Tamarac, a bit of a drive, but possibly worth it.

Why do you need SAE? Do you have an algae problem? You might be able to get rid of the problem without SAEs.

Warmest,

llj :)

Yup. HUGE algae problems.
As far as I can count I have 4 different types of algae in my tank.
Blue/green algae
Green algae
Hair algae
Red algae

I just bought 2 baby albino bristle nose pleco and they have done a good job of keeping my glass walls clean, but that seems to be the only algae they'll eat.
Most of the blue/green and green algae is almost gone but I still have alot of hair and red algae. The red algae is starting to take over everything! It's all over my rocks, caves, and fake plants and it's starting to cover my Java fern. The hair algae is just on my natural plants that are in direct light. I read that SAE are the only fish that will touch the red algae so that's why I'm looking for some.
Currently my algae attack team consists of 2 ABNP and about 15 ghost shrimp.
Any ideas what I can do to control it? I read some where that adding CO2 might work, I also heard using Flourish Excel might kill the BBA and help my plants out at the same time.
