Day 1

Planted Vase Set up and Starting to condition Females on Mayfly Nymphs, Bloodworm and Daphnia All Live.

not to bring you down or anything like that, but dont breed then in a vase. i know it was done before but its not a good place to breed them. please try to get atleast a 2 1/2 gallon but a 5 gallon would be better. also just to be sure what all do you have for them as for grow out tanks and such?? like i said im not tryin to be mean or anything but please think about it...

The Vase is alot bigger than you would think. It Holds around 2 Gallons.

I have a tanks ready for use for growout. now i know what to do it will be easier.

Great idea on the spawn log Gill. :good:
It'll certainly make for an interesting read. Good luck!

I put a nice peice of Very mature bogwood from the Daphnia tank in, and the female will love exploring that and it will be a good hiding place from the male. The vase will sit on the welsh dresser in the Veranda in a nice sunny spot. Nice and quiet and left alone for a few days once they are both added to get Jiggy.
Gonna use the rena kid like last time for the growout.

The Big Yellow Female is nice and fat after gorging on Daphnia and Nymphs. I hope i get more babies surviving this year.

ok just keep an eye on them and good luck. i hope you get lots of cute lil babies from them. also good idea on the spawn log.

Never heard of that 1 before. I dont use Lighting with my bettas most of the time, Just natural light.
Sun Likes to make nests in the Duckweed so i am using it in the vase to encourage him to nest.

you also need a light to put over the vase when the eggs are in the nest because when its dark the male will forget what hes doing and eat the eggs.

Heres a Better pic of the female. She is Very Aggressive and has been Flaring at the other Females and Shimmying up against them.

Decided to move them to the Guppies old tank as it gives them more room and i can put a light on the rim. Had the camera fixed this morning, but it still a little fuzzy.

Day 4

Made a new Divider, Can't believe i never thought of it before.

Go to Poundshop and get a Photoframe that's glass will fit in your tank.
Take out the Glass, and just wedge it in the tank.

Sun can still see the hareem of females and he can concentrate on making the nest. I am still gonna use the Big Yellow. but i am trying the idea of the male seeing more than 1 female to see how big a nest he makes.

The frame i got was 2mm too wide so i carfeully cracked it and used PVC black tape(its Aquarium Safe) and then taped it back up. It si now flexible and i can wedge it in the tank.

Simple Idea that costs 1quid and you can change the shape of the Divider to your own desgin.

Sun is not good with Nests, So i cheated. I put Mr snow in there last night and this morning he made a lovely nest.
Put Sun back in this morning and now he is busy fortifying the nest now that he can see what he has to do.
