Apparently excess calcium ions sterilise rummy nose tetra, unfortunately i am wanting to add them with some of my apple snails so need to add calcium for their shells.
Is this info true?
Edit: Are there any tetra that prefer a near neutral ph?
Any advise would be fab :)
Thanks
Sarah

Your Rummy nosed "Characin" is as close to being neutral as any fish may be..... They'll be fine with your apples.....btw.... why add calciums for the apples.... mine are just fine with normal tap water??.... (& I have (almost) thousands)??

They used to get holes in their shells, i started to add calcium and they are doing much better so dont really want to stop. Glad i can still keep them lol as ive been looking forward to them all through the cycle :)
