Royal Ram And Baby 1" Convicts

Hi everyone is it wright that my male royal ram is constantly watching over my 1" baby convicts (no adults i got given 16 of them) and looking after them he goes for any fish that goes near them lol is this a known thing for them to do ? mothering other juvenile cichlids

Wouldn't be able to answer your question, but that's absolutely adorable. Would a video be out of the question? Just shows you different fish have such different personalities

i'll try and get a vid on here for you all to see. i know ive had it with my plec's too my big gibby looking after a 2" gibby but they are the same species

You find that a lot actually, I have a few juvi cichlids that often give chase to each other, only to find my large adult nicaraguar cichlid or severum getting in between them and stopping it

lol i know it can happen it just seems odd with 2 completly different species of cichlid and my ram is quite agressive too doesn't normally tolerate anything smaller or simular size around him he even killed his royal female mate (bought together ages ago
