I currently have a L191 and a L330 royal plecos. Initially they were in a 120 and 125. However due to competition from other inhabitants the L191 was moved from the 120 to the 125.
I have heard they are territorial from one site, then social from a vendor. I don't see them fighting, but they are both showing signs of not eating - even though I put algae wafers in daily and feed fresh food at least 2x a week. I don't want to loose them, and am going to switch to fresh food daily, but need to know if they are just stressing each other by being in the same tank...2 females BTW.

There is a bunch of wood in the tank...

ZooMed has a deal on their mopani so I bought 2 large and 3 medium pieces from Petsmart and will pick them up after work.
Haven't had any responses regarding their compatibility from here or Monsterfishkeeper.com so I have 2 options:

1. Put a bunch of mopani in the 125 in the hopes it will break up the tank; then feed them fresh foods daily in the hopes of saving them.
2. Temporarily set up a tub for the L191 with some of the mopani and a Marineland HOB filter that is currently on the 60 gallon. Also feed them both fresh food daily in the hopes of saving them.

I did make a batch of Morning Wood and threw 3 substantial pieces in the 125, about 3x3 or 4x4 inches. The next day I saw 1 piece left, smooth and 1/4 of the original. To be honest I have a lot of plecos in this tank, the royals being the biggest.
I also threw in three slices of zucchini last night. Had an early start for work so I didn't see if anyone ate it.

The general rule is they will be territorial to their own species (this is more true if males then females); L330 is the watermelon pleco which is a huge monster and likely to be a real problem unless you get a much larger aquarium; royal pleco is L190.

In truth for both of these pleco you are going to want a 200 to 400 gallon aquarium - they are both seriously large at around 2 feet for full grown adult.

As to compatiblity with each other - i'd watch for nitrate build up and if they are both males they might fight over a large cave if you have one.

royal pleco is L190. As I said it's a L191.

Yea females tend to not be territorial and more passive - still as adults to massive pleco in a relatively small aquarium is never great. I know you said it is a 191; i would not call it a royal; though i suppose the common name is dull eye royal pleco.

Females tend to not take caves like males - males tend to claim caves and can be very territorial in protecting their cave (i know you said they are females).

Personally i would get a larger aquarium or look to eventually rehome them - i have one large 9 to 10 inch pleco - well two actually but they are in a 500 gallon tank that is 8 foot long and 4 feet wide so smaller pleco in much larger aquarium.
