Is routine important to cichlids ? Like feeding and lights turned on/off at set times... Waterchanges on a set day.. I guess it could be good for both you and the fish, but is it important ?? Do y'all have a routine ? or do you just do it when you can ?

I do try to stick to a routine, but you can guarantee something to just 'pop up' on the day i plan to waterchange :S ... or im out when they need feeding, or im just busy with something else and forget :S

first thing in the morning, I knock out all the animals (LOL sounds bad on second read but I mean, I water/feed/lights)
then on sunday morning while everyone's @ church I do water changes, kinda my own communion with God & nature you could say since I'm not a fan of organized religion and it's very calming.

find your own way of doing things just dont make the animals suffer, put their immediate needs first then you have the rest of the day carefree!!

No, id never let my fish suffer ... just for example, i usually try to feed in the morning but sometimes i dont get chance and cant feed till late afternoon... and if i miss a waterchange, i make sure its done ASAP. Sometimes i put the light on at 8am and sometimes put them on as late as 2pm, and get turned off 11/12pm.. is set time important ?

OH heck no, as far as food goes, I wouldnt say so, but light...IMO it should be pretty regular.
