I won a bag of young Macropodus ocellatus at a local club auction the other day. They don't look like much now, but in a few months - wowza!

Please show them once they're more vibrant... It's normal that they're not that vibrant when they're young...
 
Will do. They’re only about 1” to 1.5” at this point. I had a lot of success with the species a decade ago and am excited to be able to work with them again. They’re very rare in the hobby for some reason.
They have always been and I've never understood it. Eager to see them as they mature.

I think we've settled on getting a Paradise fish for a single fish aquarium (60-70L - tank not bought so willing to be corrected on this) so would be very interested to hear your experience with them and any advice you might have.
