I have wisteria in a 5 gall hex with clay substrate under sand. I'm fertilising once a week with tetraplant. 9w bulb on for about 7 hours.
The wisteria was in its shop clay ring for about a week and loads of leaves rotted. I've planted it and a week later, loads more have rotted.
I bought it as it's supposed to be easy to grow! I also have amazon sword, elodea and cabomba in there and they're all good. Any ideas why it's not thriving?

Also, I'm thinking about possible things to replace it if I can't get it to grow and I can see the plant in my head, but don't know what it's called. I think it's an easy to grow. It's quite bushy with lots of little leaves all along the stems. I think you can get a red variety too?
Thanks if you can ID from that pants description :)

Thank you, but it's not that one. The leaves are leaf shaped, IYKWIM?

My water wistira gets a little brown on the old leafs. But the growth grows fast and green. Water sprit is like wistera but I find it to be much better really easy to grow and it's pretty. I just love mine I bouth one small sad look pot of it and now I have 2 good size plants with a few little ones growning.

Hornwart is really fastgrowing and I think it can look nice when pruned.

Thanks guys :) I love the water sprite! For this tank though, I think it looks a little too similar to the cabomba, but it's v.pretty :)
I'll pick up some TPN+ truck, you have been recommending it to me for ages
I wondered about wisteria, there's that rule of thumb that if a plants stems stay up out of water, it probably isn't an aquatic plant. Doesn't this apply to wisteria?
Any thoughts on the other plant?

Bacopa australis?

Thanks geoff, but it's not that either. Have looked through the members planted tanks bit and it might be polysperma or ludwigia. Are either of those easy to grow?
Thanks :)

Rotala sp green and rotala rotundifolia?

They are easy to grow.

That may well be it aaron, thanks :) If the wisteria doesn't perk up, I think that will make a nice contrast to the other plants in there.
