Rosy Barbs Compatible With Cherry Barbs?

will six 1.5" female cherry barbs be ok with 6 rosy barbs (four 3" ones and two 1.75" ones) in a standard 55g tank? or will the rosies see the cherries as food?

I once had a barb exclusive tank, & the only ones that I had to remove at the end of the day was the tinfoils and spanner barbs..... The rest got on famously and and even most the plants survived..... Can't well remember what all was in there, but I know Cherries, and Rosies were a part of them with Goldens, tigers and Rubies.....(etc.)
