Room For One Oscar?

I was wondering if this tank size would be big enough for a single oscar:

40"x16"x20"

Thanks.

well it is 55G which some say is the absolute bare minimum tank size for an Oscar,

However myself and no doubt the majority of Oscar keepers and cichlid enthusiasts here will say that really the tank it is a little too short and narrow to keep an Oscar happy for life

hmmm very small, if you think an oscar can get to 12inches very quickly, then he would only have a space of an extra 4 inches to turn around in, youd see him on his side a lot trying to avoid bumping :( and he would only have less than 4 times his own body length to swim in.. no not good

what about a rio 300? whilst i would love to see my Bo in a 5/6ft tank, hes in a 300 at the moment and has plenty of room, its a lot wider than the one you have in mind ( 20 i think)and 7 inches longer

really appreciate you taking the time to find out tho :)

sadly its only 210 litres. 55 US gallon, or 46 britsih gallons ( imperial), whislt for a young oscar his would be ok`ish, they soon grow to full size and in that size he would maybe get stunted anyway :( its a heck of a lot better than sizes that ive seen some oscar keepers ( not any on here) keep them in ( there ones on ebay with a 64l and 2 oscars) ,, its not the worst, but then its not the best either :/

I kept my 2 in a 220l (the one the plec and raphael are in now) but it was only due to the problems I'm having with the big tank :( it meant a lot of big water changes even with the tetratec ex1200 running on it. Def only a short term measure.
