how long will it take for a limestone rock to get live stuff on it? its fairly big. I was hoping if i put it in there live things will grow on it. Does it take a long time?
why arent you using liverock? in a nano you cant ess with rock that can change perameteres of water. liverock really is the only rock that should be added in a nano, no exceptions IMO.
well my friend bought it for me as a pressie, i didnt even know.
Should i take it out???
Water conditions are better than ever atm.
Well even if i do take it out, how long would it of takn b4 things were growing off it?
HOw long is a piece of string?
There are so many factors involved there is no way to tell.. how good is the liverick in the tank? How close is the liverock to the other rocks? does the tank have sadn and is this currently livesand? how long has the tank been operating? do you feed livephytoplankton? and the list continues.
I would say that coraline algae will start after the diatoms/cyano stage.. this can be withing 3 or 4 months.. perhaps sooner if your loucky.. othe forms of life may take longer.
