An RO unit does it have to be put into your plumbing or is there things you can attach to you tap because i dont want anything fitted.

Thanks, Jay :D

You can get "Y" fittings that go on the cold water pipe for your washing machine. You can then have your washing machine and RO unit running from this without having to cut or put holes in any pipes (they just all screw in).

Check www.ro-man.co.uk

We just screwed mine into the cold water pipe under the sink - works a treat :good:

I dont really want to do that tbh. Is there like something you can just click on to the end of a hosepipe. *cross fingers*

Yes, there are fitting to attach to a hose pipe, see the fittings section of The Osmotics Website (hopes the URL is right)

As Barney says though, there are fittings for driect from a tap, washing machiene pipe e.t.c. You name the fitting, and someone, somewhere, will likely make it ;)

All the best

Thanks went on the website but no idea what the hosepipe fitting ones are called could you tell me? :D

They are called "garden Hose addapters", towards the bottom, see here, but you will need to use it with one of these The washing machiene pipe Barney mentions can be bought here

Right i got the idea before but forgot so what is it what connects to what

Is it Tap connector on the outside tap and then the male end into the hose pipe then the Garden hose adaptor to end of hose pipe into the RO and what is the blue piping for?

Im so thick

Thanks Jay :D

Well, if going from a hose, you have tap to hose to hose adapter to 1/4" pipe addapter into the blue tubing, into a ball valve, into more blue pipe into the unit. From the unit you then have two "outlet" pipes. USE and WASTE. Red tubing goes onto the WASTE port and then through another ball valve and then into either a container for plant watering or car cleaning e.t.c or to a drain. The USE goes onto the green hose and through another ball valve and then finally into your collection container for use. You can use different pipe colours for each bit, but that is my colour coding for it ;)

To switch on, open the inlet ball valve, then the waste ball valve and the use last. Run the use to waste for 1/2 an hour and start collecting. To stop use, close the use valve and leave the unit for 1/2 an hour before closing the waste ball valve and finaly the input if/when you disconnect the hose. This is to try to keep the membrane under pressue at all times. Changes in pressure shorten mamberane life. Avoid disconnecting the hose where-ever possible, as air pockets in the hose will hammer the membrane when you switch the unit on, again sortening memberane life
