Hi,

I am currently buying my RO from a LFS. I only use 25-75 litres weekly at the moment.

I was wondering if it would be cheaper in the long run to buy a ro unit to do my own.

What equipment is needed and cost. Is it difficult to do? I live in a hard water area.

Thanks for any advice.

My 75 GPD produces closer to 35 Gallons, one option is to add a pump onto one this will up the output but costs more to buy and Run, Better to buy a bigger one than you need :)

Thanks.

I would only need 75 to 100 litres per week. Would it still be better to get a larger unit?

What do people use to collect and store their ro in?

Stef

Thanks.

What do you think about the output of the unit?

I use 25L Water containers from a camping supplier (cheaper than my LFS) And make a 100L at a time and store in the garage using a 75Gall a day 5 stage RO unit works fine for me :)

Thanks.

What do you think about the output of the unit?

i t will be a lot better than buying LFS water, at least if you get a tds meter you know what quality of RO your adding ot the tank. Then you get used to how much water it makes in certan times. I usually leave mine on while im at work and then come home to what i need.

nope, how could you use that in a jerry can?

ive had mine for two years and i just put the jerry can in an old toy box just incase.

Hehe I flooded the kitchen well spilled some water a couple of times I invested in a aid that the visualy impared use it hangs over the lip of my 25L jerry can and beeps like mad when the water gets close to the top :) about a fiver better than getting an earful from the Mrs ;)

Been looking at these myself recently - ebay is your friend...

High / low water level alarm

Yes it comes from China - but it's only 4 quid! (and it's a very simple circuit so chances of failure the same as any other).
