Hi guys,

Ive been fancying a african dwarf frog for a while but my main concern is about it possibly escaping?

My tank doesnt have a hood it is a glass tank with a glass sheet top on it, with 2 hand groves to allow it to be lifted off.

I frog could fit through these grooves but my question is would it actually try and get out?

cheers

African clawed frogs tend to be the escape artists. My dwarf frogs have never shown any interest in trying to jump ship. But then, my tank has a hood, and it's only off when I'm cleaning or acclimating a bagged fish to the water for a few hours. You could always simply cover over the hand grooves with something when you're not using them to open it.

Mostly, my dwarf frogs just try to shove themselves into tiny spaces and act like silly little things. :D They are so much fun to watch.

As said, very low chance of your frogs trying to make a break for it.

Just give them hiding places and keep the water quality up and they'll be fine. :good:
