So.. I have eight hungry, hungry bettas (and pellets barely fit in the four little guys mouths  ) which eat pellets and frozen bloodworms on a daiy basis. While I'm going to culture microworms, I currently have a jar of mosquito larvae and wonder if these fish will be able to accept four foods? I mean, I could stop feeding the little buggers pellets and maybe even bloodworms, but I think the too-large pellets are the mini-bettas favorites. Anyway, should I risk feeding ML? I had a betta, my first, and I fed it washed mosquito larvae I had outside, after several feedings he died. My mom seems to think this is why. Could it be, and has anyone had similar deaths?

Mosquito larvae are fine for betta's- if you overfeed your fish on any type of food though it will have negative consequences on the fishs health.
Your fish may eat all the time, but this is mostly due to the fact that domesticated fish often have little idea on when to stop eating, so its easy to overfeed domesticated fish. How much are you feeding your bettas everyday and what foods?

Mhm, yeah, that's what I told her it was because of overfeeding. I feed them bloodworms and betta pellets; If it's a bloodworm day (every other day) I only feed them BW and no pellets. The pellet amount really varies, about how much they can eat in a minute or two. I do fast them once a day every week.
