Rip To My First Bought Fish

So today is a sad day for me. The First ever fish I purchassed died today. My Balloon Molly called Bruce

I originally bought the molly as it was a cheap hardy fish, however he soon became my favourite and always came to see me at the front of the tank and watch me. I would hand feed him, and watch him and his greedy habbits. He has moved tanks 3 times, and always coped well.

I know now that Balloon Mollys are a "touchy" subject with fish owners. After Owning a few now, I am starting to feel that these fish, pretty as they are, come with problems and health issuesm that no matter how much care and attention you give them, will always prove fatal. This is Why I will not purchase these in the LFS any more.

I feel your pain, I lost 2 the other week. They are really nice fish, I remember the first time the female sucked my finger The first fish ever to do it.

Had him for about 12 Months now. I know they only have a life expectancy of 12-18months, And there usually as sellable age around 6 months

Aw that's a shame.

I still have two white cloud mountain minnows I bought 6 years ago, some of my neons I've had about 5 years, some corys are about 4 years and my two amano shrimp are about 3 years old. I predict a massive old-age die off within the next couple of years!

Awwh sorry for your loss... It's always sad when a fish dies I lost my female firemouth cichlid today, She was ill for a while though. The male looks really sad, They spawned a few times, I have 24 small offspring, going to my LFS this week. I saw her die aswell, which didnt help

My first fish (that I had for a long while) was 2 male swords and a female platy. Big Haas died a couple of months ago, and Romeo had died about 4 months ago in a pH incident. Last week, my last of my original tank members, Bonnie(name for the preggo chick in family guy that was preggo forever), my female platy died. I had these fish almost a year, but I think they died early do to fish-in cycling. Never again will i subject a fish to it.
