Hi,

we have just ordered the Juwel Rio 240 which will be delivered next week.. we are going to do the fishless cycle.. But in the mean time we have been looking around at what fish to stock the tank with once the cycle is completed...

The ones we have seen/want so far are:

2 Angel Fish
2-4 Clown Loaches
2 Bristlenose Pleco's
4 Boesemani Rainbow

will this be ok?

any suggestions are welcome..

Thanks

Apart from the clown loaches eventually outgrowing the tank and neading i would say at least the 4, it looks preety good, i personally would forget clown loaches and get a nice shoal of cory's instead ;)... the rainbows should be alright but i will let someone with experience confirm this :)

Defo gonna go with the Cory's...

Good choice, many different types of corys. I personally like sterbai corys, I think they are stunning

Clown loaches are also stunning but as mentioned will outgrow the tank so you will be much better with a nice big group of corys. I'd probably put 10-12 corys in that size tank

If i stock the tank with the following do you think it would be ok?

4 x Boesemani Rainbow
2 x Angel
2 x Bristlenose Plec
10 x False Bandit Cory
2 x Steel Blue Killfish

Looks ok to me,

only thing you'd need to check on is:

a) if rainbows will be ok with angels as angels tend to eat some small fish as they grow

b) any compatibility issues regarding killifish as I'm not clued up on them

Other than that, 2 BN's, 2 angels and 10 corys sound fine

Cheers.. From reading around it seems the Angels will be ok with the rainbows..

not going to bother with the killfish as ive read that they can become aggressive...

Back to the drawing board for 2 fish... might just add another 2 Cory's.
