There are ton of them in Thailand too, never seen people keeping them though.

I think they don't keep them because they are not so colorful
But in my city they are the only kind of crab

You can keep crabs but never keep them with anything else because they hunt and kill any fish or shrimp in the tank.

Crabs are general scavengers and will eat anything fish or shrimp eat.

Do regular water changes and gravel cleaning, feed them a varied diet, and they will do the rest.

I think Deanasue is correct with this one. Crabs that grow to 9 inches are not suitable for aquariums. They are however suitable for dinner.
