^ similar experience here. Riccia is probably more aesthetically appealing with its wonderful sparkling oxygen bubbles (I've never known any other plant to pearl so much). I would say it is higher maintenance though.
Glosso is probably easier to look after (providing you have sufficient light, CO2 etc.) and less maintenance. Although it does need completely removing and re-planting after a few months as the lower leaves become starved of light and rot.
So it depends on how much spare time you have and what look you prefer. Jimbooo has the best example of a Riccia lawn, I have a good example of a glosso lawn. See our journals for photos.
