Riccia And Rocks

I know there is an on-going thread about using Riccia for Aquascaping projects but I am just curious to know if Riccia could be hairnetted onto something other than Slate?

I was looking into hairnetting some onto an odd shaped rock I have purchased from my LFS. Not sure which type of rock/stone it is however, the LFS said it would be okay for a Tropical Aquarium.

So can Riccia grow on say a Rock??

Quick answers would be greatly appreciated.

Riccia will grow on anything given sufficient light and CO2.

Yes, it will grow on anything however it is floating so in order to keep the shape of the rock the hair net it will have to be tight all over the rock.

I have some on wood and some on rocks too. They do not root, tying it on substances is to keep it submerges into water instead of floating on the surface.
