yeah, like I said above, not a fish I have ever kept. I was actually trying to find a pleco to add some variety to the bottom dwelling fish but when I saw these guys I just had to have them - was told they are great community fish and can take a slightly higher temp that my discus need so took them.

Reminds me of the old Angels and Discus argument - I've always kept both together with no problems at all - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and hopefully there won't be any problems with these guys either.

I'm sat having a few drinks tonight but still can't stop watching the discus though......

here we go, a pic of my discus - doesn't really show the colours so well of the pigeon bloods and the blue diamonds won't sit still and pose for me but will get some more soon when they chill out.... they are settling in great and had a few pecks at food.....

a couple more pics below, time for a new camera I think, current one is getting past its best....... might remove the glass from the tank as it doesn't really fit in with the decor

moonlight is definately the next addition to the tank, that and possibly a co2 system as I've never been happy with the output of juwel lamps (though the change to T5's has made a huge difference).

and onto the riccia now (many thanks cheesy feet). Have covered a cave for now and as it grows I'll pull it more down the sides, going to pick up some mesh or slate to carpet parts of the tank but in the mean time the remainder of the riccia is being grown in a tub...... my discus thought it was dinner and my cory's are going great guns in it.....

Glad your happy with the d. riccia!I forgot to tell you there is some little hitchhikers in there (Ostapods ) which fish feed of, look for little specs around the tank and you might see them lol.I didn't even know I had them until I sent some d.riccia to nurglepuss. He saw them and looked at them under his microscope to find this.- http://www.youtube.com/nurglespuss.
It should look great once it fills out :good:

any free fish food is good fish food!!! Saves me chucking guppy fry into the tank (sorry those who get upset by that.... is it better to call it selective culling?). All I know is that if my discus don't stop pulling at it, I'll have to set it all again!

Well after a while since last pics, I've had to remove/replace a fair number of plants due to a quite severe outbreak of brown hair algae and plants that were dying off quickly..... even managed to get one of my Raphaels to pose though not for long - right greedy sods they are as well. Other than that, things are going great, have added a tetra CO2 unit to help the plants along and since setting up.

Have still to add a moonlight so I can see my Raph's at night but so far its a very happy tank. A summerhouse is being built in the garden which is going to be my home office but secretly its going to double as a mini fish room as well so I can get some more tanks - just can't convince dearest to find room for more tanks in the house at the moment!
