Argh!!!
I went away with work for a week and left my betta in the care of my partner. Unfortunately I've come back to find half his tail in tatters, and all that beautiful new growth I was seeing has rotted away.
Tank stats:
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 25 ppm
PH - 6.5
Temp. - 28 celsius
The OH tells me he hasn't changed anything in the tank, just performed a 25% water change as instructed.
Last night we changed 75% of the water and added aquarium salt - anything else we can do? Also, I don't understand what could have caused this to happen, so any help there would be appreciated.
