Hi,
I have a 55 gallon tall tank which was stocked with 3 golden dojos, 6 kuhli loaches 6 giant danios, 2 panda cory catfish, one smaller breed of cory and one larger breed of cory. In the last year or so I lost all 3 dojo loaches, 3 of the kuhli loaches and 2 danios. I just introduced 3 new giant danios and I will be getting 3 more kuhli loaches but now I wonder if I should have more cory. I know my tank cannot hold 6 of each type but would 2 be enough? And would it be too much for my tank?

You could certainly up your cory groups to 6 without issues with the tank size you have. Loaches and cories arent a good mix really but i think khuli maybe ok here.

Ive got 15 bronzes in my 55 and could easily fit more in.

*Edit..Just noticed you put 55 tall.
Whats your tank dimensions?

Should be fine to up the cory groups.. however the giant danio's (Danio malabaricus) need a larger footprint than 30inches.

They are pretty big fish and ideally need a 4ft tank (48 inches)

Thank you so much! I thought I might need a bigger tank for the danios too. So the 1 inch per gallon for fish isn't necessarily a rule?

Nope! Doesn't take into account dimensions. Many people have tall tanks, which are nice, but the majority of fish swim horizontally not vertically. Thats why you might see a 20 long being able to keep as many shoaling fish as a 29 high.

Hello and welcome to the forum :fish: :hi::fish:When you get a chance post some pictures of your 55 gallon tank, I would like to see it, I have the standard 55 gallon.
Here is a picture of my tank. I only have one plant inside but I have some outside
