I currently have a Juwel Rio 125 that has been running for a little over 3 months now. The tank is moderate-heavily planted with a pH of 7.6 and a temperature ranging from 26-28C. I currently do a weekly 30% water change.

My current stocking is a bit of a mish mash, it comprises of:
7 neon rainbowfish
5 tiger barbs (2 regular, 2 green moss, 1 albino)
2 golden barbs
1 dark ruby barb
1 bristlenose plec
1 bolivian ram

I've been thinking I would like to change the stocking, but I'm not sure what to keep or what to get. I'd like to keep the rainbows, they look really amazing together, and were pretty pricey, so it doesn't make sense to get rid of them after such a short time. The barbs are such fun to watch and get along great with everyone else, I'm worried as they get older the tiger barbs might be a bit of a problem, but so far they're really well behaved!
I've actually found the bolivian ram to be really boring. He/she just spends most of its time just hovering above the gravel, I've never seen it swim anything but really slow, or do much at all. I don't know if this is because I'm only keeping 1. The bristlenose plec is a great addition to the tank, so I think I'd like to keep a hold of him too.

This is what I'm thinking about restocking with, and would like other peoples opnions on what would work well together and look good.

Option 1:
8-10 neon rainbows
10-12 glowlights or rasboras or other small tetra
1 bristlenose
1 bolivian ram or 1 krib

Option 2:
7 neon rainbows
6 penguin tetras or giant danios or other largish fish?
4 yo-yo loaches
1 bristlenose
2 bolivian rams or 2 kribs

I'm leaning towards the first option, because I think 2 larger schools of fish would look better together in a planted tank, but I'm open to suggestions.

im a fan of option 2 or 3 because I always want atleast one cichlid in my tanks, but thats just me. Option 1 would look nice with the big schools of rainbows and barbs thoguh :good:

I actually like option 1 better, only because i think that 8-10 neon full grown rainbows will need the swimming space, specially if its planted (which depending how you do it will take away some clear space for them so swim.

Also if you get kribs and they lay eggs or pair, they will completely terrorize the tank and nip everyones fins. ditto for the rams but to a much lesser degree.
What about corys?
