Restarting for my daughter after 8 years recommendations please

So I’m back here after 8 years I have a daughter who is turning 3 in may
I am thinking of getting a tank and fish as part of her birthday present (she loves looking at fish).
I’m looking at possibly a fancy looking desk tank for the office ?

Suggestions /‘recommendations please

I’m not sure whether to go temperate fish (platys) or a small group of female betta
Or guppies and endlers (providing it has a lid!)

What tanks / filters / suggestions please
