Reply from seller for ebay item ...

I answered all the q's in the reply, I know they were rhetorical but all the better. I said that I don't have a license to sell fish because I'm not a breeder (do you actually need a license? I didn't thnik you did), and I don't breed because of space. And that I'm sure space isn't a problem for her because going by the size of that tank she probably puts her juvies in eggcups.

Riight.. (don't edit wuv, I'm not spamming honest!)

I asked- Out of interest how much water does this hold? Isn't it a bit small?"
Reply- holds 2/3 cup of water. It is not too small for a Betta, they can live in 1 tablespoon for up to 1 month although I wouldn't recommend it. It is too small for any other kind of fish.
OK, they can expect an email :grr:

Reply-I agree with you, we are liquidating a commercial fish distributor inventory, we are selling them in quantity so we presume that othe distributors or breeders are buying them. Betta's are seperated "males" at a young age and these size containers are perfect for them to get started.
I do not suggest that full grown bettas be put in the bowls long term.

I asked- How big is it? Isn't it a bit small?
Reply-The tank measures approximately 5 inches tall by 3 inches at the widest point. I am not sure what qualifies as small for these fish, however most of the tanks sold for single fish are of comparable size. This item can also be used to create a decorative display for water plants if you feel it is not large enough for a single fish. Thank you for your interest and good luck shopping and bidding.

Reply- respect your feelings but will agree to disagree. You obviously have very strong feelings about this. I myself have five Betta Fish. The box clearly states under the instructions the following: "Place lid in vase with roots down in water, but do not immerse root base in water. Important-leave 1 inch space between water and lid, so fish can breathe air." It also states under instructions for care the following: "Bettas are air breathers: Bettas come to the surface to breathe air. When filling your display with water make sure you leave 1 inch of space between the lid and the surface of the water. The water in your Betta Oasis display should be changed a minimum of twice a month with dechlorinated water." I am selling only the Betta Oasis not the Betta Fish. I am hopeful that the buyer will be a responsible fish owner and take care of their pet accordingly.
Another one getting an email :grr:

that last one is awful, the roots of the plants will grow so the fish cannot go up for air, plus its very narrow at the top which makes it even harder :(
