The New Tank I got was so cheap because of a crack on the back of the tank.

The Crack goes Diagonally Across the back of the Tank.

What I was going to Do was get 2 Peices of Glass cut to cover the Crack inside and Out. Put a Generous Layer of Silicon along the Crack Inside and Out.
Then Cover Whole area with Silicone and Squeeze on the Cut Glass. And then Clamp in Place.

Repeat Process for the outside of the tank.

Would this be Ok = LPS Said they have used this method for their own tanks that have cracked in handling.

The Replacement glass would never Be visible as I Can use that Black Rock Sheeting or Pea Gravel Sheeting used for reating River Beds to Cover the Glass.

First Question is the size of the tank?

I have a little 10 gallon tank on my desktop that has a small crack wich I patched with a strong plastic silconed over the top. So what your proposing would be fine to a certain size. But if you are going to go to the hassel of getting 2 sheets of glass to patch it why not just replace the whole sheet?
