Hi everyone, I am currently in the process of setting up my tank. Everything is now up and running apart from my air pump system.

I bought an Inca style head which produces a very nice bubble effect however before this I have two buried airstones under the sand. But they are not producing any bubbles. I thought it may be the Pump not being powerful enough. It was the Rena Air 200. So I took it back to the store and they kindly let me exchange it for the 300 model. Still the two airstones dont' work.

I'll map out the way I have hooked it all up so you can get a better idea.

Pump
Line
One Way Valve
Line
1st T-Piece.

The first T Piece runs to a small airstone about 2 inches long and the other exit from the T Piece runs to another T Piece.

From the Second T-Piece it runs to a second airstone about 3 inches long and from the other exit to the inca style head.

so the inca head is the last item in the line but it is the only one working so it's definately not a blockage problem.

Any help much apreciated.

Cheers, Chris.

Not trying to make u look stupid. but is the one way valve round the wrong way?
I have done this on my pump :D

LOL air valve is the right way... as the head feature it working ......

I still think maybe its not powerful enough - take the stones off the end and put the 3 tubes under the water at the same time see if they bubble.

The air will escape via the path of least resistance - if that is through the head that's where it will all go.

its the air stones i think if its the sand stone type they block up very easy, try the ceramic one they last longer, :good:

Let me suggest that before you start blaming the air pump that you try blowing through the tubing yourself. It is not at all unusual for an air stone to become completely plugged up, especially if it is not used for a while. Your answer may be as simple as cleaning the air stone or replacing it if that is the problem. I have a couple of Rena air pumps and find they can deliver lots of air at great depths. That means to me that you need to check the rest of the system and the easiest way to do that is to try blowing through the air tubing.
