im taking my back to nature background out of my tank soon (hopefully next weekend) which has been glued in using tank silcone.

just wonderd the best was to remove it?
is there any type of spirits etc to help remove the existing glue/silicone once the background is out?

thanks
chris

I did the same about a month ago-best thing i ever did! I got a stanley knife and prised the top of the background away from the glass. Once you can get your hand behind the background you should be able to pull it away. Just watch your water level as it will rise. Id remove half the water if i were you. Once thats done the hard part begins. I had to scrape the silicon off with a wallpaper scraper, i suppose it depends how you have applied the silicon. In mine it was in thin strands.

i will be removing all the water filter heater etc into another tank due the having to remove 2 big braces so there will be no water.

i can get my hand all the way done the back of my backgorund. i done it in one big bead then again over the front to make a nice finish

thanks
chris
