I don't use breeder nets or traps, as I have a 64L (14g) tank.

I have 10 female platies (6 just growing out of being fry) and a small male that was born in the tank (his mother was taken to the LFS as was his Dad).

Anyway, I had the best batch survivval since starting this hooby in the summer. 12 fry were happily swimming around. But it kind of crowed the tank.

I thought it best to net the fry and give them to my LFS, even though they were still small (2.5 cm max)

Because of the rare (I thought) colouration of the fry, the LFS took 10 without hesitatation. They had a red face, cream body, dark white end and black tail.

The two I couldn't catch remained in the tank.

Unfortunatley, one of them I stoped seeing in the tank 3 days ago and the other one hasn't been seen today, Was it a 'strength in numbers' thing happening, hence they were happy in the tank, or that I should have let them get a little bigger before removing them ?
