Rekord 70 Which Way To Go?

Ok, here goes. I want to upgrade the light on my Rekord 70 so I can have a really cool planted tank (inspired by Jimbooo). Now I can either do the light modification Ive seen on here (add an extra bulb near the front of the tank, which would make 30W, 1.94WPG, which I dont think is enough for a riccia carpet or Glosso) or I can buy a hood that I can then fit a Interpet T5 TriPlus 36W in giving me 36W, 2.33WPG, however I dont know if this would be safe to use because I don't know if it's water proof sealed.
What should I do, the light mod, or new hood and Interpet T5 TriPlus 36W?

I have less than 30 minutes ago sold my planted rekord 70 so i can not post pictures, but if you check my signature and look at my journal you can see how i added a tube at the front. Then there is space to fit a 3rd tube in between the two and mount it using a screw in the piece of plastic the goes across the centre of the feeding hole (in the bit that drops down) that way its totally invisible.

Its gives you ~2.5wpg and like i said, check my journal, i`ve grown every plant i wanted succesfully. Riccia, glosso included

Cool, cheers. I guess then that gives you no space to feed the fish and stuff without taking of the hood? And will the lid hatch be able to close properly if it has a screw head on the top?

Also whats the DIY mix for the Nutrafin CO2 system?

The ingredients for the DIY Co2 mix is yeast, sugar and water. I'm not sure how to set it up or how much you need, but i'm sure if you look at the pinned topics it may say on one of them.

Radar, no I never took my hood fully off ever!

The lights are only 18" so it gives you a good inch either side to drop in a little flake food.

I've seen Chris's lighting mod and it couldn't be easier to do, i would recomend it a lot of use here have done similar thing.

Thanks everyone.
I just have to wait until my lil baby T-bars are big enough to sell and sell the parents as a breeding pair before I can start on the Rekord 70 (because theyre in it).
Also, it's no biggy but im going to have to take the reflector (which I put on) off the original rekord 70 light as it is in the way of me putting on the 3rd bulb which would be attatched to the bit that drops down on the plastic bar going across the feeding hole.
