hello

i have a rekord 60 that has been empty for a few weeks.(did a water check and all stats are very good). i want to fill this tank back up again with something i will enjoy watching, i have kept most types of fish and i am quite experienced at breeding livebearers. i would like to steer away from live bearers but a few maybe nice. and i was wondering if you nice people could knock up a few stock lists for me, as im abit spoilt for choice and do not know what to get. my tank (for those that dont know) is 54 litres 16 us gallonsish. quite qwll planted fine 2mm gravel. and lots of hidey holes. so plz xan you help me with my decisions as i am just one of those people that wants one of everything, which ofcourse is impossible! please help! and also i dont want anything that will grow past 4". i was thinking a small shoal of characins maybe tetras. and some honey gouramis. dont know what to do

thanks Jack.

if its been e,pty a week then it will probably have lost alot of the benficial filter bacteria so cycling would be needed again. How can water be matue have you never done a water change also a tank with 100% new water can be mature as little bacteria live in the water.

For fish how about tiger barbs species only tank

i have been keeping the tank cycled and i do water changes every 2 weeks. the filter system is very established and you may have missed it but it has only been empty 2 weeks. i have looked at tiger barbs but i would like a bit of variety.

that sounds awesome:) do the neons cause any problems with guppys with fin nipping? i do quite like harlequins and i adore cory's

thanks:)

thanks. i like the idea of 2 species of shoaling fish.

ive never kept bosemani rainbows before . how much are they and what kind of temprements do they have?

need about 24-28 so about 26 would be ok for all of the species- however neons prfer slightly cooler

they are not expensive at my lfs around £4-5 each, tho usually sold in pairs- one female and one male coz the males are nore colourful

actually forget the corys- i have just read that you need a group of 6+ and that water temp is from 20-24 celcius

ok i will leave the bosmanis.

is it possible that more than 2 gouramis would live together as i love the way they are so grace full

i will probably get
2 gouramis
2 platties
8 neon tetras
8 glowlight tetras
and 3 corys ( but seeing as corys dont produce much waste could i have more?

Corys do prefer to be in larger groups so 5 would be good. I wouldnt push your luck with the gouramis in that tank space, some can be as peaceful as you like, others can be territorial. Looks like a good stocking to me otherwise.

ok ill stick to the 2 gourami's. i saw this really nice colouring in some honey gourami's the other day from head to tail it went yellow to orange to red they are beautiful i must get a pair

and i might get 5 pygmy corys or some bronze corys. will bronze cory's and albinos get on with each other as they would if they were all the same. i have only ever kept 3 before so dont know much about them.
