Is it just my regulator, or is the bubble rate adjustment on the JBL Profi too coarse. Turning the needle valve through one degree of arc doubles the flow rate.

If they are all like this, what pressurised system with a solenoid can people recommend for my next tank.

I could have put this in the hardware section, but I think I may get a better response from fellow plantheads.

I have one of the Profi set 3's and changing the flow rate is massivly difficult to get right. Its far too sensative if you ask me,

Seems strange as with my JBL reg I'm able to get very fine adjustment of CO2. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I had a JBL reg, IMHO the worst reg on the market. Both my Aquamedic and German eBay regs are much, much easier to get fine adjustments. The JBL reg was particularly annoying when I used it on my nano, as I had to get a very small bubble rate, but the reg didn't seem to like that so I had to keep adjusting it almost everyday as it seemed to 'drift' out of place, changing the bubble rate. Will never use them again.

I've got a standard mig welding reg (with a large bottle as I used to do a lot of welding!) which enables a reasonable level of control. Then to refine that further I have a needle valve just after the solenoid. I can easily get 1 bps or less if needed.

The only downside to the mig reg is that the second gauge shows flow rate and not pressure so setting the output pressure is a bit hit and miss.

i also agree that the jbl reg isnt very good for fine adjustment, i use a ph controller so it doesnt concern me that much.
